Nintendo's keynote press conference at this year's E3 gave us all kinds of news about the company's plans to re-conquer the prized middle ground between casual players and hardcore gamers. With new flagship console, Wii U, at the head of the fleet, Nintendo's rolling out new games and experiences for franchises familiar and foreign to Nintendo hardware. One of the most hotly-anticipated titles for any new Nintendo system in this day and age is Super Smash Bros., and reportedly, the Wii U and the 3DS will not disappoint. Nintendo announced today that Masahiro Sakurai is planning to start working on new version of Smash for Wii U and 3DS just as soon as he finishes up Kid Icarus: Uprising,the high-flying 3DS entry in the ancient Nintendo series. Sakurai intends for the two versions of the future Smash Bros. game to work together in some undisclosed fashion... hmm. Well, as long as I can still fling bolts of psychic lightning/fire/what have you around, I'll be happy. We ride together, we shoot ourselves in the butt with lightning together, Ness boys for life.
