The Word of the Day is....ADDICTION.
- compulsive need for and use of a habit-forming substance
- characterized by tolerance and by well-defined physiological symptoms upon withdrawal; broadly
Now for my definition: an addiction is anything that you feel that you can't live without. Addictions don't always have to be synonymous to drugs either. With that said, you could argue that you can't live without food and water and ask if they were addictions too. Yes, they are as well. But those are the sole addictions that are HEALTHY. All others are the ones that can harm you. Here's a sure fire way to test if you have an addiction. Pick out the things that are the most important to you within your daily routine. Now ask yourself, How long can I go without this? If you find that you're having trouble letting go of whatever this is, then you may have an addiction. Be honest and challenge yourself to break whatever addictions you may have. When you get to that point where objects have no power over you, it feels great.
