The Word of the Day...

The Word of the Day is....POWER.

  • a measure of an entity's ability to control the environment around itself
  • Power can be seen as evil or unjust, but the exercise of power is accepted as endemic to humans as social beings

Power. I get chills from just saying this word. Power has so many definitions that you could start a blog trying to cover all its aspects. The type of power that I want to talk about is the idea that we humans use on a day to day basis. The money, the respect, and the what? Power is what men in the past have put their lives on the line to acquire. You can look back at ANY war in history and not know the specifics of why the war started but I'm sure the reasons boil down for the everlasting fight for power. One group has it, it's seen by another group, and that group is willing to take it under any circumstance. The quest for power can be both a noble and/or selfish one. Depending on your motives and intentions it can go both ways. Unfortunately we can look back in history and see that any time one man or group of individuals acquired power, it didn't take long for it to go to their heads. Another thing that comes with power is corruption. I guess I could be corny and quote Uncle Ben from Spiderman and say: "With great power comes great responsibility!" but its all so true. Don't let corruption consume you.
